The state of the dog-professional industry

Unfortunately, the dog training and behavior industry is still unregulated. This means that there are no mandatory requirements for a base education, certification, or continuing education. This simple fact can have devastating results for both you and your dog.

Here at The Paid Pup, I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), a member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPG), and a Certified Family Dog Mediator (FDM)—and I’m committed to continuing education and staying cutting edge, top of class on the latest scientific research about our dogs—keeping their welfare (and yours!) as my top priority.

Ego vs. Knowledge in Dog Education.

The Paid pup is Force-Free, Fear-Free, and informed by science, kindness, and freedom of choice.

Force-free training is teaching an animal without pain, intimidation, threats, force, or coercion. I will never use corrections, scolding, or intentional punitive punishment to teach your dog, or you.

The Paid Pup uses a multidisciplinary approach to working with dogs and their guardians which includes: Canine ethology, neuroscience, cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic therapy, Leslie McDevitt’s Pattern Games, Amy Cook’s The Play Way, empathy, and seeing from the dog’s perspective.
